The last time such one sided contest between a bowler and a batsman happened was in the previous Ashes series where Australia spin bowler Nathan Lyon haunted Moeen Ali.Making a comeback into Test series after serving the one-year ban for his involvement in the ball-tampering scandal, Warner managed to get just 95 runs in the 5 Tests to finish with a lower average than England’s tail-ender Jack Leach.After his 61-run knock in the first innings of the 3rd Test, the 11 runs that he scored in the final innings at the Oval on Sunday was Warner’s second highest score in the series. Warner also has 3 consecutive ducks in the series.Warner had a rough time in the Ashes series but the Australian was in form of his lifetime during the World Cup 2019 where he finished the tournament as the highest run scorer and 3 hundreds.advertisementChasing 399 for win on Day of the 5th Ashes, Broad dismissed both the Australian openers cheaply. Playing on his only Ashes Test, Marcus Harris was dismissed for 9 as while Warner followed him after scoring 11 runs.The openers have not had a good time in the Ashes series as their poor outing has led to an unwanted world record.
