Updegraff scored his first collegiate touchdown, while Murph and Skinner both made their collegiate debuts. Fifth-year senior Mack Marrin battled through injury most of last season and is looking like he is getting back to his 2015 form when he posted a league-best 8.5 sacks among 12.5 tackles for a loss and earned first-team all-PFL honors. Last week, Marrin recorded four tackles, half a sack and a pass breakup. Southwestern begins year three under head coach Brad Griffin and welcomes nearly 70 new athletes. The Moundbuilders young squad is led by freshman running back Keyshawn Wyatt. In his collegiate debut, Wyatt recorded a game-high 128 yards rushing on 14 carries. Junior quarterback Christian Gordon accounted for all five of SC’s touchdowns in its season opener and also racked up 254 yards of total offense (186 passing, 68 rushing). Senior linebacker David Ashilonu leads the Southwestern defense, as he registered a team-high 12 tackles last week. Print Friendly Versionlast_img
