Last week I had Bob & Chris Weiler plus David Abel on Coaches Corner. I knew about Youth Football in Batesville, but I did not realize the extent at which this program has grown in southeastern Indiana. The League involves 9 cities or towns who support football teams for grades 1-6. Batesville, of course, is one of these cities. Their squads contain close to 25 kids per grade level. Each player can only play on the team that corresponds to his grade in school. The League provides the funds needed to support the teams they put on the field by their own fund raising techniques. They are self-governed and basically run by volunteers. It is the second largest youth football program in the state of Indiana. Thanks to a group of dedicated volunteers. They are providing a very structured and safe program of youth football. Good job guys!
